LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Lusaka City Council workers today shun work in protest against non-payment of their February and March salaries.
The Council workers flashed placards calling for resignation of some top council officials. They have also vowed not to return to work until their demands are met.
Meanwhile yesterday, the Zambia Postal Service employees in Lusaka staged a protest demanding for 6 months unpaid salaries.
It was not the first time in a space of 6 months the ZAMPOST workers were protesting against non-payment of salaries. In December last year the workers staged a similar protest and only resumed work after management threatened them of stiff punishment.
